Chargeable Weight: the greater of the actual or dimensional weight is applicable to parcel and freight shipments travelling as Less Than Truckload.
Dimensional Weight: the total cubic feet of the packed shipping unit, multiplied by a weight factor 10.4 pounds per cubic foot.
Packed Shipping Unit: the box, crate, pallet or other piece. If the carrier determines the boxes or other cargo requires palletization or crating, the packed shipping unit will include the weight and dimensions of the pallet or crate containing the cargo, rather than solely the weight and dimensions of the cargo contained therein.
Actual Weight: the cargo plus all packing materials including the weight of any pallet or other materials used to safely transport the cargo.
